Adhoc illustration
Just a quick illustration to best show off one of the latest designs. This was an attempt at designing for the high street aiming specifically at the audience of Abercrombie & Fitch customers or the English equivalent, Jack Wills.
The design features a dramatic drop back check crop top with pocket and cuff detail with embroidery detail around cuffs and patch pocket. Wooden button detail.
In addition to this it also highlights a pair of crop skinny jeans with turn up hem detail. Including single asymmetric pocket and red stitch detail along the right hand side of the jean in contrast with the green denim. Brass button detailing.
Outfit is complimented with red head scarf, brass earrings and red wedges with check tie scarf accessorising.

altitude - final year collection
Altitude is an Autumn/Winter 2014 winter sports collection.
Fun, colourful and practical winter sports clothing for use in and around the resort. Aimed at the 13-28 year old ski/snowboard enthusiast. An on trend, practical and fashion forward collection to keep you warm and dry whilst still fully fashionable off the slopes.
Inspired by Aurora Borealis and astrophysics colour and geometry is key throughout. Due to the astrophysics inspiration and the collection being aimed at a winter sports market the name Altitude was born. Following this, each outfit was then named after the different altitudes of the atmosphere combining the influencing factors.
The collection features figure flattering shapes with functional fabrics and features throughout. The collection is comprised of 4 outfits made up of 10 garments.
Debut collection from Emma Henson Design.
Completed June 2013 for Final Year Collection, graduated with a 2:1 BA (Hons) Fashion Design.
Key skills to note during this process were Illustration, Working Drawings, Garment Design all done using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. In addition to this other skills include Manufacture and Print Design. However, it is worth noting this is a well rounded project and therefore garments costings were taken into account for the retail market and a photo shoot was planned and organised from beginning to end.

final collection line up
design developments - altitude
The design developments shown below are the initial designs done for the Altitude collection. The final collection developed from these initial ideas hence it is important to show the creative process undertaken. Colour was obviously a key change throughout the development but it is also important to see that the design has been refined to create a cohesive capsule collection.
Key skills include Illustration, Design and Styling.

Spoonflower.com - under the sea - print design
Spoonflower.com is a site known for their creative custom printed fabrics. They are renowned for their weekly competitions which regularly incorporate Graphic Design to create new fabric prints for their website.
This particular competition was to create a graphic print using an 'Under the Sea' theme. It was key to be innovative whilst ensuring the design was suitable for a girls t-shirt design.
I collaborated with a friend to create this typography inspired print. We created this design by using different fonts and colouring to represent 'Under the Sea'. Albeit simple this design captured the theme perfectly and in turn created a fun and wearable t-shirt design too.
Key skills highlighted here are again the use of CAD (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) and the ability to work to a brief.

Final Collection - previous style
As previously stated Final Collections develop over time. This is the Altitude Collection prior to its change of branding. This particular version of the collection was based on the theme 'Blank'.
This theme was born from the idea of a ski slope being a blank canvas as it is a common goal of snow sports enthusiasts to paint make the first marks on fresh snow. This then went on to influence the creative techniques used to create the graphics and layout of this collection. Although this project was ultimately changed the style and process of illustration was a particular favourite, hence you see it still featured in the portfolio.
The layout and illustration used here was done using watercolour illustration. Illustrations created on illustrator were then incorporated into the watercolour artworks. These were then edited on Photoshop to ensure key details were captured and highlighted.
Key skills shown here are Illustration and CAD. Particularly the use of Hand Illustration, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator packages.

sami collection - final year
Final Year is crucial to any degree and therefore what you choose for a final project is equally important. This is why I created a second collection. I wanted to ensure I was following the right path with my designs so I chose to create a second collection. This collection explored a completely different market, fabric choices, design style and final line up. This way I could be sure that my final outcome was the right direction for me.
The Sami Collection was an Autumn/Winter evening wear collection aimed at approximately the 16 - 40 year old high end womenswear market. Key fabrics used were chiffon, soft leather, feathers, fur and beading. These fabrics all combined to create a luxury and heavily textured feel whilst encapsulating the arctic trend. The name Sami comes from the 'Sami People' of the arctic circle and the collection is influenced by their traditions, clothing, location and climate. For example, the use of leather is representative of their use of animal skins.
The Mood Board and Collection was as follows.

Project was completed second semester of second year at university.
Brief was to design a dress to be used in a photoshoot themed around a particular magazine. This project was targeted at Vogue. This project was a group project and therefore had to incorporate the designs and direction of 3 students.

topshop live brief - fashion targets breast cancer
This project was completed during the second semester of the first year at University. Topshop set a live brief to create a small collection of t-shirts for their stores. These t-shirts simply had to represent the fashion targets breast cancer cause, ideally using their colours (at the time!) and their logo. They needed to be clearly recognisable as representing the cause whilst still being fashion forward enough to appeal to Topshop's key target market.
This project shows key skills as design, illustration and trend analysis. Use of Photoshop and Illustrator was also key.
The Designs were as follows.
